Frequently asked questions

How TankTrasa calculates real savings, where prices come from, and what to do when something looks off.

How does TankTrasa pick the recommended station?

TankTrasa doesn't just show the lowest price nearby. We factor in the cost of the detour based on your vehicle and fuel consumption, so you see whether a station is actually worth it before you get in the car — a cheaper station a bit further away doesn't always win.

Where do TankTrasa's fuel prices come from?

We combine two sources: driver submissions and confirmations in the app, plus data collected automatically from external fuel-price services. Every station shows the date of its last update, so you know how fresh the price is.

What does the price confidence indicator mean?

Next to a price you'll see a confidence level — high, medium, or low — based on how many fresh reports we have for that station. Low confidence doesn't mean the price is wrong, just older; check the update time before you refuel.

What should I do if I see a wrong price?

On the station card, tap thumbs up if the price matches, or thumbs down if it doesn't — you can submit the current price right away. Reports go to the community and the TankTrasa team for verification.

Is TankTrasa free?

Yes — the map, the recommendation, and basic price alerts are free, no account required. Premium unlocks more active alerts at once. TankTrasa Data API is a separate, paid product for businesses.

What's the difference between the cheapest station and the recommended station?

The cheapest station is simply the lowest price nearby. The recommended station also accounts for the drive there — sometimes a slightly pricier station that's closer wins, because the detour to the cheapest one would eat the entire saving.

How do I set a price alert?

On the Alerts page, choose a fuel, a price threshold, and a station or area. We'll notify you when the price drops below that threshold.

Does TankTrasa provide turn-by-turn navigation?

We don't run our own turn-by-turn navigation. The Navigate button opens the route in Google Maps (Apple Maps in the iOS app) — TankTrasa handles picking the station, not driving directions.

Do I need an account to use TankTrasa?

No — the map and the recommendation work without signing in. An account (email or Google) is only needed for alerts, saved stations, and your vehicle garage.

How do I add a station that's missing from the map?

Use the Add a station form and provide the location and basic details — the TankTrasa team verifies the submission before it goes live on the map.

Which countries does TankTrasa cover?

Poland is where we're strongest — the densest network of reports and the freshest prices. We're also growing data coverage in Czechia, Slovakia, Germany, and Italy; switch markets in the top-right corner to see local prices.
